Vitiligo Disease - Is Common In The World’s Population

-->

Vitiligo disease is a dermatological condition that is relatively common throughout populations in the world. Vitiligo is a skin disease that causes white spots or patches of white skin to appear on a patient’s body. The white spots of vitiligo disease are caused by the death or defective functioning of normal skin cells, called melanocytes.

The medical community estimates that the prevalence of vitiligo disease affects approximately 1% to 2% of the world’s population. This condition is seen all countries, cultures and ethnicities worldwide. Vitiligo is not a disease that will kill or disable an individual, however in severe cases the white spots can be so widespread that they have a profound disfiguring effect.

Scientists have now narrowed down the gene that is responsible for vitiligo disease to be the NALP1 gene, which is located on chromosome 17 at 17p13. This gene is responsible for regulating inflammation and cell death. This discovery has led scientists to believe that vitiligo is an autoimmune condition similar to lupus, where the body’s own immune system attacks itself.

Treatment for vitiligo has involved some of the following methods: use of a drug called Piperine, use of immunosuppressant drugs along with ultraviolet light, use of ultraviolet light in combination with corticosteroid creams, ultrahigh wavelength ultraviolet light and even the use of surgery.

I am a person that suffers mildly from vitiligo disease. At a young age I began to notice white spots under my chin, a few other areas on my face and other parts of my body, many of which are not publicly viewable. Fortunately, as I grew older my skin disease did not require any medical treatment because most of the spotted skin regained its normal pigmentation naturally.

On the other hand, my mother suffered more seriously from vitiligo with large areas of white spots on her hands, arms and legs. She tried many of the treatments mentioned above but did not have real success until she tried a product called Anti-Vitiligo two years ago.

This alternative treatment to the standard medical protocol was an extremely effective method for treating her vitiligo disease. I can personally vouch for the efficacy of this 100% natural treatment as I saw her spots begin to recede as newly re-pigmented skin was formed.
